MDHA APPLE TREE PROGRAM HISTORY

Apple Tree Program History

In 2019, MDHA introduced the Conservation Apple Tree Program as a new perk for its members. Apple trees, ideal for northern Minnesota's climate, are available at a discount to cultivate wildlife habitats. These trees, mostly University of Minnesota selections or from Canada, are around 5 to 8 feet tall when bare-rooted. Interested MDHA members can reach out to their local chapter for details on joining this habitat promotion initiative. The program saw an excellent start statewide with 1,500 apple trees already bought by enthusiastic members!
