The 2024 MDHA State Habitat Banquet and Corporate Board weekend was full of awards, celebration and camaraderie!
The Minnesota Deer Hunters Association held the Annual Corporate Board Meeting and State Habitat Banquet on Saturday, February 24, 2024 in Grand Rapids, Minnesota. The weekend kicked off on Friday night with "Bygone Days of Deer Camp". A night of camaraderie reminiscing over photos and sharing hunting camp stories all while enjoying a camp cookout featuring chili and smores.
The Annual Corporate Board meeting started bright and early on Saturday morning with delegates sent from chapters all across the state to represent the members of their chapter. Meeting activities included: approval of the previous year's minutes, Treasurer & President & Executive Director reports, Committee reports, vote on proposed Bylaw Amendments & Resolutions, elect MDHA's State Officer positions and legislative outlook from MDHA's Lobbyist. During the meeting Jim Vogen ran unopposed and was elected as the State Secretary and Mark Nohre ran unopposed and was elected as the State Treasurer. The weekend wrapped up with the Annual State Habitat Banquet filled with enthusiasts eager to raise funds in support of MDHA's efforts to benefit habitat in Minnesota. Garth Albers, MDHA President and Scott Foley, MDHA Vice President presented the Distinguished Service Award to Brent Thompson - Jim Jordan Chapter, Chad Endres - Rum River Chapter, Paula Peterson - Roseau River Chapter, Marshal Fitch - Bluff Country Chapter and the Forkhorn Achievement Award was presented to Isabelle Keehr - Snake River Chapter.
