This October, the Minnesota Deer Hunters Association (MDHA) is hosting an exceptional opportunity for both novice and experienced hunters alike. Partnering with the Department of Natural Resources (DNR), MDHA is hosting two weekends of mentored crossbow hunts at our state headquarters in Grand Rapids. With over 130 acres of prime hunting land, provided equipment, and expert guidance, this event is set to be a highlight of the hunting season.
Over 130 Acres of Hunting Land
Located just north of Grand Rapids, the MDHA headquarters boasts over 130 acres of hunting land. This expansive area is perfectly suited for deer hunting, offering a diverse terrain that includes food plots, deer stands, and ground blinds. If you're a beginner eager to learn, these grounds provide the perfect backdrop for an unforgettable hunting experience.
One of the key features of the hunting grounds is its well-maintained food plots. These plots are strategically planted to attract deer, ensuring that participants have ample opportunities to spot and hunt their prey. The abundance of natural food sources not only supports the local wildlife but also enhances the hunting experience by increasing the likelihood of successful sightings and hunts.
MDHA has thoughtfully equipped the hunting grounds with several deer stands and ground blinds. These structures provide hunters with the ideal vantage points and concealment necessary for a successful hunt. Whether you prefer the elevated perspective of a deer stand or the close-to-the-ground approach of a ground blind, you'll find the perfect spot to set up and wait for your moment.
Generous Donation from Ravin Crossbows
Thanks to the generous support of Ravin Crossbows, all participants will have access to top-quality crossbows for the hunts. Ravin Crossbows is renowned for their precision and reliability, ensuring that hunters are well-equipped to make accurate shots. This partnership underscores the commitment to providing a safe and enjoyable hunting experience for all.
Safety First with Certified Instructors
Safety is paramount in any hunting expedition, and MDHA has taken every measure to ensure that participants are well-prepared. Each hunter will be paired with a certified firearm safety instructor, who will guide them through the process and offer valuable tips and techniques. This mentorship not only enhances safety but also provides an excellent learning opportunity for those new to hunting.
The presence of certified instructors means that hunters of all skill levels can benefit from expert advice and hands-on training. Whether you're learning the basics of handling a crossbow or refining your shooting techniques, these mentors are there to support and guide you every step of the way.
The MN DNR is working towards hosting an on-line, evening, Mentor Training prior to the Hunt dates.
